click on u go to profile of you and it will b dotted no picture if you look to the right youll see avatar and something to the affect of geet my avatar now click it and itll walk u through it I just figured it out 2 days ago

I have Yahoo messenger and the avatar I have on it is posted with my replies.
Try that route, and it should work for you.

In your profile, click your picture it should direct you to avatars.

click on the My Q&A link at the right top corner and then Edit my info that is where you choose the picture to use
