today's big word for the day: anthropomorphism
the attribution or ascription of human characteristics to inanimate objects, animals, forces of nature etc
It also makes cartoon characters more appealing and easier to draw. Who wants paws on cartoon mice? Less fingers are easier to draw or animate.
