go to www.sugarglider.net and RESEARCH!! I have four, I just had one shipped to me in Oregon from a breeder in Texas. Standard greys go for $75-200 and colours go for $200++. Alot of the time a breeder will give a small discount on a pair, because they do so much better with a pal - usually they will only do this with female/female or nuetered male pairs to keep from unwanted babies. This forum is VERY helpful and full of resources, but I can't stress enough to research for at least 30 days before buying. They are a huge committment, but very rewarding :)

They AREN'T "flying squirrels" from Australia, they are marsupials closely related to oppossums.

Pet store buys aren't recommended most of the time because they are more traumatized and not handled. Buying from a breeder will usually mean you're getting a baby that knows people aren't harmful.

Check sugar glider rescue. They aren't an ideal pet, but very cool if you have the time and inclincation.

One would hope you have the Australian bush as your backyard to keep your sugar gliders before you attempt to buy them!

well let me just warn you, sugar gliders are A LOT of work, they require alot of attention, and they are quite messy, and loud during the night

they're expensive in pet stores, but through breeders, they're cheaper. but you have to be careful of inbreeding. and they're "sugar" gliders, Australian flying squirrels.
