Do you think people in unpopulated areas would be able to hear it? Would it cause everyone who heard it to go deaf? This is assuming that everyone is outside when they scream, and that they scream at the top of their lungs. It would have a lot of dogs howling at the very least, and that would cause even more noise!I wonder what would happen. What do you think?

Oh, no...not this question.

We did something similar, back in 4th grade.
The theory was if everyone in our classroom dropped their pencils at the same time, it would create a loud noise.
We dropped them
It wasn't loud.

The law of physics, specifically acoustic physics rules out the premise of your suggestion.
A nice idea, but it wouldn't work.

However, there is another option, which has been done.
You can get a group of people together.
Gather somewhere in public (say, a shopping mall).
You all point to something and jointly let out a group scream, moan, sigh, or other sound, then everyone walk away in different directions.
Very cool if you can get about 20 or more people to do this.

And finally, the links allows you to hear a scream or send a scream to someone.

That actually happened in a book by Dr. Seuss. There were all these people living on a tiny grain of dust and it was about to get washed down the drain or something. One of their scientists made everybody in the world make as much noise as possible so the big people would hear them.

The people in unpopulated areas? Then the area is populated.

But they'd be screaming too, so there wouldn't be much difference.

In high population density areas it might get a bit noisy.

That question is so funny. These answers are even funnier. I like it. We don't seem to hear a collective roar of cars which lots and lots of are running at the same time unless you are near a highway. Or do we just not notice?

All the car alarms in the world will go off with the vibrations of 6 billion plus pairs of vocal chords.

I'm looking forward to watching the forthcoming movie "Death of A President," because I suspect you'll find out what it sounds like when everybody on earth cheers at the same time.

Nothing. Everyone would be hearing their own screams. There wouldn't be deafness occurring. And that's the truth, that's what I think.

I don't think it would be loud enough. Everyone in theatres shout at once and you can't hear that outside. Even if the theatre was open air it doesn't travel very far.

everyone will scream....
oh and the people in the unpopulated areas will also be screaming, so is there a point in it?
oh and isn't unpopulated places without people?

Deep! Isn't this the type of question that ANSWERS was made for!

I reckon we'd poison ourselves with all the carbon dioxide being created as we breathed out OR we'd use up all the oxygen and just die!!!
