they are same 1024mb =1 gb i just got a computer its a dell e1505 has a 15.4inch screen like u wanted u can find dell coupons online to make it cheaper i recomend them not the best suport but better than most their systems are usuably reliable and they are reletively cheap (price not build, build is great) get at least 1gb of ram and a good sized hard drive 60-100gb depending on what u use it for .the e1505 has an intel core duo which are great very fast they are overall great systems

The ram is the ability to have many applications or programs running at the same time.
1 gig should be enough. Just for future reference 1 Gig = 1GB = 1024 MB at the same time 2GB = 2048MB they just use powers of 2, like 512 is 2^9 which is usually call half a gig which is still 512 MB.

1024 mb = 1 gb.
Everything computer is binary, or based on a system of 2's.
256mb = 2^8mb
512mb = 2^9mb etc
The only difference that you could possible find is getting ram in module vs 2 - if you get a single module with 1024mb, you could always add a second module (if the laptop has more than 1 ram slot)
If you get 2 512mb modules off the start, then explanding would be more costly etc.

Toshiba Satellite A105-S4014 has 1024mb=1gb of ram and can run the new Windows operating system call Vista when will be available. Vista needs 1024mb=1gb ram.

Calm down buddy, 1024MB and 1GB is the same size, and at the rate computer tech has always gone id advise go with 1GB its faster and easier to deal with as time goes by. In as far as good latop you will just have to read the online reviews...i would not really be able to help you with that. :)
