Yes, my Granda always said they're Gods creatures (he was catholic, but I'd never hold that against him) He used to make string ladders and hang them over the bath so as the spiders could go about their merry way..... As a consequence, I can no longer kill spiders...no matter how gross they are...
Having said that I'm getting loads of daddy long legs in my house...yet I don't have a problem bashing them with the biggest, thickest, flattest book/magazine I own.
Besides spiders eat flies...and they are far worse I think.

Yes don't stand on them.. they can't help being spiders! Get something wide like an ice cream tub and chuck it over the spider and pop him outside... or you can buy a stick with a box on the end to scoop them up with. x Remember they can't hurt you- they're more scared of you!

I hate them, I think the heat attracts them, I've got every window closed in the house because of them, I heard the average person eats about 7 spiders a year in there sleep! minging!

Spiders are harmless in the UK. Not like wasps. I have a huge one (spider that is) in my garage. He's mint. Don't hurt them. If you prod em they'll find a little dark hole to hide in and leave you alone.

Apparently spiders hate large shiny conkers (horse chesnuts) and I am reliably informed that, placed in corners and other strategic places, they are anathema to arachnids. Fortunately we are rapidly approaching the conker season, so it will be possible to test the veracity of this claim in a very cheap and environmentally friendly manner!

Omg i hate the spiders in my house. Although i have a mental problem as my doctor would say. I see things many times bigger thsn they are and i see things out of my own imagination. Catch it with paper and cup? bowl? something and put outside or you could breed them. Which sounds strange.

i don't like big spiders, i normally get someone else to catch them and release them outside. don't stamp on them, yes it is cruel, all creatures have a right to live.

I think it is cruel to step on them.Spiders rarely bite unless they're bothered, and they eat alot of "bad " bugs;flies;roaches, etc. I just scoop them into a cup or something and put them out into the yard, unless it's cold outside. Then I put them in the cellar.

I don't get any spiders any more. I bought some of those plug-in pest repellers off the shopping channel Price-Drop TV.

They work wonders.
