PG- Iverson- more heart than anyone in the game, 32 ppg, 7 apg, the BEST American point guard in the league. they said he would slow down since his rookie year, and he has proved them wrong every year.
SG- Kobe- the best SG in the league, even tho he occasionally plays forward. Can shoot the three, drive the lane, dunk, plays good defense. He is one of the top five players in the league.
SF- McGrady- If he was healthy, no stopping him. He too can shoot the three, drive the lane, he usually sucks on defense, but he has his moments.
PF- Kevin Garnett- Arguably the best player in the league, very well rounded, one of the few players who still shoot the mid range jumper, had 62 double-doubles last season, easily led the league in those. Adds athletic defense, along with swingman offense, an athletic forward who can run the break and get a good first step on any defender.
C- Shaq- even tho i hate him, he is still the best center in the league. Wallace needs to improve his offense before hes my starter.
Reserves-
PG- Chris Paul
SG- Ray Allen (3 pt shooter)
SF- Vince Carter
PF- Tim Duncan
C- Ben Wallace
G/F- Dwyane Wade
F- Amare Stoudemire

C-Shaq- he would of destoryed Greeces big man and he wouldnt of had to cover that guy on the outside

Pf- Tim Duncan- plays for the spurs so he can play for a team and is the best skilled big man in the world

SF- Lebron James- only person greece could not stop yesterday the man is a freak

SG- Kobe bryant if he plays against the suns with the assist and everything he would make the US team 100000000X better and he can shoot the deep ball especialy with the line moved in

PG- Jason Kidd

I wouldn't inlcude J.J. Redick on the team, simply because he's too one-dimensional and can't play defense.

I like the idea of including defenders like Wallace and Prince along with guys who can score both by driving the lane (Wade and Lebron) as well as from mid-range jumpers (Ray Allen). I really think the big thing is to get defenders - it was embarassing to watch a team today that had no idea how to handle a pick-and-roll that we all knew was coming, but that they ran on us all day.

Also, I would not have Coach K on that bench. Anyone can win NCAA championships when you have by far the richest talent depth in the country, but it takes a different leader to win with a group of NBAers against elite competition from other countries.

what is lacking with the us team is experience and leadership everyone is young. reason is they are building up for the future and not the present. but u.s. or nba has a lot of talent to win an internarional competition NOW. it should be a combination of youth and experience
c- shaq
pf- TIM DUNCAN
sf - le bron
sg- wade
pg - billups

you can put on back up
wallace ben and rasheed
bowen why did they cut him off he is their defense specialist
hamilton
ray allen
kidd
and many more team players
that means kobe, iverson and carter are out
basketball cannot be won by one player alone but by a team

The NBA needs a real Dream Team from the '90's and the 2000's.

Sad that USA lost? Why? I'm Greek too. I would be less happy if we had won a European country.....Sa for what???? For owing their "strength" to anabolic and for plying individually? For not having team spirit? For taking for granted that they would win the gold metal?????
