Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. And if you love it, continue on with the sequel New Moon. Both are great books..."can't-put-down" books which is always a plus in my opinion.

Uglies trilogy (Uglies; Pretties; Specials) by Scott Westerfeld. This is a great series.

Sarah Dessen is one of my favorite YA authors. I love her books. My favorite is The Truth About Forever. But her newest book is Just Listen. All her books are great though.

Joan Bauer is another great author. I love HOPE WAS HERE. But again, all her books are great. You may read the one sentence plot summaries and be skeptical, but believe me...they're all great books.

Sonya Sones is great. My favorite of hers is WHAT MY MOTHER DOESN'T KNOW.

And if you haven't read it, you really should read Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. It is one of the best YA books ever written.

Looking for Alaska is also good. That one is by John Green.

And for YA books with a twist...you should read Pete Hautman. His newest book is RASH. And last year's book INVISIBLE was also very good.

The Earth, My Butt and Other Big Round Things.

I forget the author. This was actually recommended to me by a fellow adult, and I read it without realizing at first that it's really for teens.
