That is a dificult question to answer, the definition of a hot rod is subjective, it has diferent meanings to different people. The best general definition I have for a hot rod is a vehicle that has been modified to enhance its performance and handling characteristics. usually older cars, but I personally consider even the import tuner cars to be modern hot rods.

A hot rod, also know as a muscle car, is a classic car with a V-8 big block engine.
Mine is a 1969 Chevelle SuperSport, with a 396 engine, and 400 turbo tranny in behind it, with a 4 barrell quadrojet , and glass packs.
