When, not if, whites become a minority, will they be given the same dignity, respect, and compassion as minorities are given today such as affirmative action and special treatment? Will it be a more or less sophistocated society?

Studies that project a decline in the white population, that will ultimately culminate in them being of minority status does not in and of itself mean that they will be an oppressed class. Too often the term minority is often associated with those who are discriminated against, or with people who have no power or voice. The only true definition of a minority references the fact they are of smaller numbers than other races or groups.
With that said a minority group, in many cases throughout history are still the ruling class despite their small numbers. All that is needed is control of the wealth and the means of upward mobility. Keep in mind whites have been the minority in the global population throughout much of recorded history, yet they were still the ruling class in many parts of the world.
The high degree of education, which most attain, results in them having fewer and fewer children in relation to their less educated Hispanic and Black counterparts. This causes their numbers to decrease to where the projected minority phenomenon will occur. However, this devotion to higher education, at the expense of reproduction, and their tendency to investment in their future legacy more than Blacks and Hispanics, allows them to wield enormous power despite the paucity of their future population. I don’t think they will be a class of people who will need affirmative action, or who will plead for concessions anytime soon.

I don't think even tho they may become a minority ,they still will have the money and that can buy protection and respect.They have had money and power for a long long time ,it wont be as easy as you think it will be to "take over" They are not going quietly in to the night as did others .They will fight you with economics. And money will still talk loudly and 2050 It will be no different.Numbers are only numbers and without brilliant leadership it will mean nothing to be the majority.

They are treated the same way minorities were treated when Whites were the majority. Sounds fair to me.... Whats good for the goose is good for the gander, no?

Maybe you didnt notice already, but whites are the minority. The word minority is too often used as a derogitory term. Nothing much will change in this society just because people accept this fact. It shouldnt be question how whites will be treated yet how will fellow Americans FINALLY stand together.

We'll be a minority but still a plurality. There won't be another race to lord it over the whites. And affirmative actions isn't just because non-whites are a minority, it is to overcome the history of systemic discrimination that restricts their opportunities.
I would hope that by 2050 no one would need affirmative action.

People will be smarter then, look back to 1950, and see the diference between then and now.

Hmm, the politics will still be ruled by the same dynasties, as society has degenerated into two casts- workers and "deciders".
All workers, regardless of race are equal.

we will be treated like crap. it won't matter that it was a white man that abolished slavery, it won't matter any good thing that a white person did. the majority will take out all that pent up anger out on us. i for one will carry a big gun. then i will be just like they are now...killing people on the streets just because i'm a minority and poooooor the govt won't do enough for me so like the minorities now. i'll deal drugs and pimp ho's.
