When did silver jewellery become the jewellery of choice as opposed to gold? Will silver jewellery still be fashionable next year? Any references/weblinks, welcome

yes it'll still be fashionable this year and the next but also so is gold. not real gold but just the color. anyways, we like silver because the color is more future/cool. have you ever seen a gold space outfit? its always silver. silver matches with anything, but gold is considered to be more 'old' and can't match everything.

I think it was probably when people started finding out more about what colours suit different people, instead of just "whatever is in fashion".
Have you heard about the different "seasons" that people are categorized as to choose what colours look better on them? It goes for silver and gold jewellery too. "Winter" and "summer" people look better in silver than gold, because of their skin undertones.

It hasn't. Gold is actually really popular right now. But it doesn't always look great on people who have a fair complexion. So they go with silver because it compliments them more.

Not Every Fashion matches with Silver, also not every Fashion matches with Gold.
Each jewellery has its own style and type of fashion suits with.

silver jewellery is a classic some of them r fashion too! It become a fashion hundres years ago! I personal don't like gold, cuz that golden color makes me feel like a parvenu.

Ever since less become more. it's classy, discrete, polished and not over-the-top. Also suits anyone.
Understated chic. No, will never go out of fashion because of it's timeless nature, ie it's a classic. Check out any Hollywood actress on the red carpet, from the past to present, and you will see how timeless it is.

Might not all be silver. I'm guessing celebs will be wearing white gold or platinum.
Yellow gold looks tacky, especially chunky "bling", but silver/white gold/platinum is more subtle - except on chavs who wear stupidly big tat!

maybe because in most styles silver is more affordable then gold jewerly so you mite as well go with whats cheap yet still fashionable..

silver jewellery is really fashionable now coz its fashionable! its one of those things that just 'are' wat they are..... i supose we are influenced by celebs and stuff
i wud guess dat ye silver wud still b in fashion next year but it just depends on how long it stays in fashion but i bet gold will come back coz fashion always comes back
