I do know that i was FORCED to attend ala-teen while my STEP_MOTHER attended ala-non because her father died in a drunk driving accident before she was born. I hated every second of it and the people in there didn't like me and yelled at me because i didnt think i had a problem.

Screw you who ever gave me a thumbs down

Alnon is not a cult and it is not dangerous. People who are impacted by the aspect of a disfunctional family, cause of someone who is an Alcoholic, find solace and friendship and understanding in knowing there are not ao=lone. I do not know what makes you feel or think that way? I know one thing, Alnon has kept my sanity from a husband who was drinking himself to deadth. I was constantly in fear, when he drunk and he was mean. He did not beat me, but he beat me with words. I think words are meaner than beatings. I was alway's walking on eggs. But with Alanon, I have been given the way of life back that I used to know growing up in Germany. I think some one must give Ala-non a chance , not just at one time or second time making up your mind. You must go several times, and perhaps one or another it will click! It clicked for me after I went the 10th time. I do not go there any more. My husband died of cancer approximatley 9 years ago. So I hope you will find solace in Ala-non just like million other once doo.......
