I've read a lot of questions regarding thongs here and a lot of people say they like them because it's sexy and erotic, so why do they make them for girls? That's kind of funky.

I think what the question asker was referring to was thongs for "little girls". I've seen these at some retail stores as well.. and I must say I was SHOCKED and DISGUSTED. What's worse than companies creating and marketing thongs for 5-8 year olds, is the fact that parents are buying them for their daughters.

The reason clothing lines make thongs for little girls simply has to do with money. Due to little girls trying to grow up WAY too soon, (I blame it on influences like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Paris Hilton, etc) there's a market for pint-sized "sexy" clothing. Some parents might think it's "cute" that their 8 year old wants a thong... but I think it's just plain wrong. Little girls shouldn't worry about pantylines... they should be worrying about getting the panties with the new Disney characters on them.

I wonder the same thing! I was once shopping with my daughter, and we waited in the checkout line behind a mother and young daughter. We couldn't help but see their purchases, and they were buying thongs for a young (maybe 8-10 year-old) girl! We both looked at the thongs, the girl, the mother, then at each other in shock!

I don't have to worry about my daughter wearing them. She has enough issues with how clothing feels. She'd never wear something so obviously uncomfortable!

They're also good if you're wearing clothes that you don't want to have a panty line with. My husband loves thongs but I got him to love boyshorts too. He thought that I should wear thongs all the time but I think not so we compromised.

A guy wearing a thong? SO NOT ATTRACTIVE! UGH!

Wow...I thought most girls knew. Thongs are made and used to prevent visible panty-lines [VPL]. If you have like white pants or form-fitting bottoms [pants, shorts, etc], you don't see a giant thick granny panty line. Besides, sometimes I find them more comfortable.

I think its a fasion thing. girls would where tight pants and they always had a pantyline so someone came pu with the thong to erase the pantyline. I agree. i dont like panylines in tight pants, so i think its a good idea.

Well I think thongs are sick, but if I'm not seeing them I don't really give a care.

sumtimes they r good because if ur wearing pants or a dress that will show ur pantyline u might want to wear a thong so ur not so self concious about ppl seeing it.

I believe they were first invented for girls that wear tight pants. That way there would be no "panty line" I definitely deserve the best answer for this one.

....it's stripper wear and girls just wear them.....a clean sophisticated girl wouldn't brag about a thong ...now would she...there is nothing special...it's just underwear...
