The most read (or at least most sold book) of all time is the bible. However the most memorized book is probably the Qu'ran, as there is a special recognized accomplishment within Islam of Hafiz which is the ability to recite the Qu'ran by heart.

Most read and most memorized, the Torah (the Jewish Bible); it's older than either the Christian Bible, or the Koran... It was memorized as a rite of religious accomplishment long before the Koran.

The Bible is the book that has the most copies published, and has been for hundreds of years. It is not on the bestseller lists because it has been around for so long. it was one of the first books to be published, when printing was invented.
