i recieved this computer from my brother and i want to get rid of all his stuff without losting the drivers that r installed and without losing windows XP

all you have to do is go into control panel
then add/remove programs
go through the list of things installed and remove everything you dont think you will need
once thats done go into my documents and see if he has a bunch of stuff in there thats where most people keep things
and just delete it go into my pictures my music all those common places and delete his stuff
that should take care of it
if you have an OS cd you could always pop that in and reformat it
but if you do that you may or may not end up with all the drivers you need they are not that hard to get but if you dont want to worry about that then just do all those things i said good luck

If you are really getting rid of the memory, I could use a half-gig stick of DDR400.

whats fun about that, just wipe the suck clean and start over it's not that hard and is always good practice if you haven't done it for awhile or good learning expience if you have never done it

run a full system recovery, then you will have to reinstall the drivers, sorry
