i don't want to have any relationships (romantic i.e.). i am straight not a lesbian either. i want to end up in good money paying job after my MBA but whenever i tell people that i don't want to get married they either think i am joking or start lecturing. are my plans really that wierd ? what is wrong with being alone for the rest of my life?

People just react that way because it is different than what path they chose. Married people want you married, people with kids think you should have a kid, etc. Everyone wants to think that the path they chose was the "right" one, and one way for them to think that is if they see others choose the same path.
Just live your life the way you want and be happy. If you want to live alone you should just do it and tell everyone to butt out.

Nothing wrong with staying single... nothing at all.
Until we find the person that we have a "Meeting of minds" with, and are truly feeling that with that person, it is best these days to enjoy life and have our own careers and enjoy whatever and whenever we can everything we want to do.
Take your time. No rush here. Life will find us love when we are ready for it.

If that is your final decision, and you're firm in it, then don't worry about what people say. It is your life, not theirs. Besides, I think a lot of people are miserable in their marriages, and want you to be too. Stick to your guns, if it works for you! Good Luck!! You're NOT weird! There is a lot to be said for being alone, and not having to answer to anybody, 24/7.

nothing it's just how people are conditioned, they don't understand how a woman doesn't want to be married or have kids. some people will look down on you for not being mrs. somebody,it's lame i know. i mean after all isn't that what every woman wants? to be a maid and crank out children??? LOL right...
