go to the library and get a book on stamps

There is a great web site at http://www.virtualstampclub.com/inherit.html that deals with this question. It doesn't matter whether you actually inherited the stamps or got them some other way.

The best thing to do with old stamps, however, is to start a collection and add to it! Stamp collecting is a great hobby!
