I only had 2 but now I've got 5, 3 babies and 2 adults. I don't live near any body of water and my garden can be quite dry. How do they get there, surely they can't cross the road? Where does the frog spawn get laid?

Are you sure they are not TOADS? Frogs as you know like water but toads love a garden. How fabulous to have whichever you do :-) Toads will eat bugs and cutworms, all the bad stuff. If they are frogs, they could have come from the wholesale nursey in the plant pots, them from the retail nursery to your yard with the plants.

Good luck :-)

A pond could be effective for them, a bucket buried interior the floor will do, yet be certain they are able to get out with the help of putting a great piece of wood in or some flowers over the area or they are going to die of exhaustion from swimming around too plenty whilst they at the instant cannot get out. different than for that, in keeping with risk low shrubby flowers and don't placed down slug pellets or issues like that through fact the frogs will devour the slugs.

Frogs dont live in ponds they only breed in them. Although I have one of the only ponds in my immediate environment my neighbours without ponds all have the benfit of 'my' frogs. They particularly like my neighbours garden as he has piles of damp wood that he is storing (badly) to make a shed.
Alternatively they could be toads. You must have an environmentally friendly garden to attract either frogs or toads

I think they're toads. Are they brown or green? Toads are brown and frogs are green an slimey. I have a few toads that come out of the garden at night, to eat insects. Do your's appear at night?

They are toads, and love to live in gardens. They are great to have for they will eat the insects. Toads usually find a place where waters ponds then lay eggs, then tadpolls, then little toads.

Frogs only go to ponds to lay spawn. They dont live in ponds all the time, they like to live under dense plants like pampas grass etc... I just luv em!

These frogs/toads live in your garden because it is environmentally friendly to them and it must be a healthy garden. Congratulations. I just hope they don't make too much noise for you.

Frogs like cool, dark places and one of your neighbours further afield may have a pond.

I've seen frogspawn in buckets, they can breed anywhere there's water!
there may have been a pond years ago, apparently they go back to where they were born to breed, may be true I don't know by experience.

they are toads....they look like frogs, but they have rough skin like a lizard....i have them everywhere....the conditions must have been just right for the little critters this year....
they are a blessing they will eat the smaller bugs that like to eat your plants, let them live.
