How will you power your ECO friendly light bulbs if you get rid of the power station?

It depends on how many Megawatts the power plant produces, but if 100WATS bulbs can be replaced by 25Watts power saver bulbs, and a power station produces 135MW, you'd need to replace 1 800 000 bulbs to save that energy.
