because "best" is just an opinion.
i do think we have the best ideas about personal liberty, and i really mean that. that's why i would like to save it and why i am interested in politics.
there is nothing wrong with having an opinion. being different is not bad, and being "best" is not the same as being "right". i think we have made mistakes, but all things of man are works in progress. choose your beliefs and make them worth having, then you will feel like standing up for them. right now you sound like you are unsure about america. if it is only because of worrying about making other people "wrong", then find something worth being right about.

It is not that the US is right and the rest of the world is wrong. It's that the US provides a life for it's citizens unparalleled throughout the world. There is no country in the world with the level of freedom and level of prosperity to compare with the US. The US carries a huge burden for the world. It gives more charitably to other nations than any other nation. It contributes time and manpower more than any other nation. It is made up of the most hardworking, industrious, creative peoples from all over the world. It is made up of every nation of the world. The best of everything the world has to offer. The best ideas, the best traditions, the best foods, the most industrious, the smartest, the most hardworking, the most forward thinking people of the WORLD. How could it not be argueably one of the, if not THE, best country in the world.

Believing your country is the best in the world doesn't translate into every other country being wrong. Yes, I do believe the US is the greatest country in the world. I'm from the US. I'm also very fond of England, and other countries as well.

If America is so bad, why have people migrated here from all over the globe. Its not because of the welfare, (that's recent). When we have more people trying to get out as trying to get in then you can make this statement. Of course this country is different. We are made up of the best of what the immigrants brought with them. They left the crap back in their old countires. The whole world does not hate us. We and about 30 other countries are parts of coalitions in Iraq and Afghanastan. You are just buying into the liberal socialist bias that has been hell bent on destroying this nation from its very core. From what I see on here, they are doing one hell of a job.
If you want a happy life I recommend get rid of all the negative engergies around you. If I had outlook on life as liberals do, I would have ended it long ago. Wake up before its too late. Life is too short to be sour. Jesus was different than every other Jew too.

Absolutely not.
I'm from America, and I'm planning to leave ASAP.
This country has come a long way from it's founding days. Unfortunately, it's headed in the wrong direction.
The ideals of America are good, but the reality is, the country is going down the toilet in a big way.

It's all a matter of opinion. A lot of people think they are in the best country in the world - all over the world.

No I don't,
The US has the worse politicians in the the world,
a country that has made the most wars in the world is too far from being the best.

No and my reason the way they treat there older people. Only in America do they ship them to nursing homes and make it so they can not live out their lives with respect. They don't even make sure they have insurance to cover their medical bills. Their is not the cost families
that will take care of them the kids that they raised. It has been said two parents can raise 5 kids but 5 kids can not help their parents when they get older they ship them to nursing homes for someone else to care for them.

No. Especially since the Wimp Bush & His Boys took over, attacked our own country & created a police state which will only get worse after they inflict another attack on the people of our country. The only terrorists we should fear are the jerks in Washington D.C.

I infact asked this same question, once. Responses varied between comparisons between the american freedoms and the freedoms of... developing countries, and some even claimed that USA is the best because it is the most powerful and economically strong country.
Oh, I forgot about the "immigrant proof". Oh, what would they do if they finally solved illegal immigration, and no one would come there anymore?
The notion that USA is somehow better, freer, economically stronger is ridiculuous. Certainly it is one thing- Big.
