Shawshank should have won best movie that year, but Madonna for her performance in Die Another Day. They would however have to make a worst actress category.
Seriously though, Robin Williams for One Hour Photo. He scares the sh*t out of me now but there are too many to list, the oscars is just one big popularity contest Titanic best movie? I think not.

Felicity Huffman for Transamerica, Kate Winslet for Iris, Leonardo DiCaprio for The Aviator, Chloe Sevigny for Boys Don't Cry, Michelle Williams for Brokeback Mountain, Paul Giamatti for Cinderella Man, Angela Bassett for What's Love Got to Do With It and many more deserving actors I cannot think of.

I think Sean Penn should have won an Oscar for either "Dead Man Walking" or "I am Sam" and not necessarily "Mystic River". Kevin Bacon should have at least been nominated for "Murder in the First". Demi Moore (yes, I said it) should have been nominated for "G.I. Jane".
