Ernesto had dropped in strength to a tropical depression, and is causing heavy rain in the Mid-Atlantic states, along with moderate winds. Most of the rain is north and east of the storm center, which is passing through central Virginia right about now. It will push up to Canada by Saturday night, so any weather you experience from Sunday onward should be independent of Ernesto. If you're in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or New York, you can expect some rain in the next 36 hours if it's not raining already.

Ernesto will be long gone by then and a weak area of high pressure over the northern mid-Atlantic. Moisture and convection associated with a broad area of low pressure over the SE U.S. may be close enough for some diurnal convective showers (from daytime heating).

Would variable cumulus clouds and 80° with perhaps an isolated shower be okay?
