i think it's their colour, but what are the colours?

Females are more blandly colored in tans and browns. Males are more vibrant in greens, purples and such.

In human's its the opposite - go figure nature!

Actually, you must do this: dissolve some sugar in a bowl of orange juice and place it in an area where dragonflies congregate. Observe the dragonfly in question. If HE drinks from the bowl, it's a male; if SHE drinks from the bowl, it's female.

Females are called 'damsel flies', and have only two wings, which they can fold back along their bodies. Males are called 'dragon flies', and have four wings, which they cannot fold along their bodies, but which must remain extended for all of their short lives.
