He is not "out" so I worry what his coworkers would think. But he's been down and I thought I'd cheer him up. I don't have he new home address. He's just a friend but I wonder if it's inappropriate.

When you send flowers to someone at work it shows that you are trying to make yourself look good and it is actually stupid! Send flowers to his home.
