I've read about this. It's not a period, but the uterus has contracted so much (the biological function of an orgasm is to 'suck up' any sperm from the cervix into the uterus) that it's bleeding. The uterus get a bit stressed. It's similar to a period, but it's not. Research orgasms and bleeding...that should help you out.

Perhaps it has something to do with how we are most sexually receptive right before our period. This usually results in an increase in hornyness (to prompt you to engage in a certain activity that produces offspring) and that could cause you to be able to have orgasms easier.

right before your period and during it, you are usually the most sexually aroused and thus probably the reason for the multiple orgasms.
