Because of the magazines and all the beautiful women in them. We just are bombarded with all these images and I think most women would want to look like that. I think I tried every brand of self-tanner on the market and have finally given up.

I don't know, but it's addicting! I like to wear make-up, but I don't put a ton on- I don't think it's necessarily the amount you wear, I think it's because it kind of symbolizes growing up, or because we watched our moms put make-up on when we were little, and now we want to be like them. It's also kind of like Halloween- you get to change the way you look for the day. I think our society today has a lot to do with it too, though; my 6 year old cousin won't leave the house without make-up, which is really sad.

As long as you girls realize that you're doing it to attract a better (more successful, more able to PROVIDE) male, no problemo. Another name for it is whore paint. Don't know why they call it that tho.....
