My husband is so in the dumps. He just lost his job and our marriage is being restored after infedility (his, not mine). I want to give him a special birthday but we are struggling financially....and due to the recent infedelity, sexually too. Any ideas to let him know I love and appreciate him without spending too much money or jumping in the sak.

you might like this idea. You seem to be in love or you wouldn't be asking what you can do to cheer him up and with little to no money. well i know what it's like not to have much money. so with that said. Since you have a computer, hopefully a printer as well. look for love poems and print them out . use your font and color pallet to make it original. print them out and cut them around the edges and paste to construction paper and make him a spacial little poetry book, made just for him from you. I've done this and you can to . make it your own work. I think putting alittle effort into it will amaze him the time and trouble it took you to do it. Use poster board for the front and back of book and ribbon to tie it all together, I hope i was help full. and have fun its a blast to do. mostly because you are doing it out of love.

Whatever you do, keep it simple and to the point. Cards are a good idea. A love letter might be surprising. Make an effort to hold hands often. Watch a movie with him on TV. He will appreciate you being with him and giving him attention whether you like the movie or not. Your interest in him will mean a great deal to him...more than anything else you can give him. Make sure that he knows that you support him. Be his cheer-leader. If he is in the dumps, he needs you more than he would like you to know.

Best thing to do here is to keep it simple. Understand that simple pleasures in life are also the ones that we take for granted... such as a walk in the park, a barbeque outside with friends, swimming at a public pool, gardening, cycling, rollerblading, and a picnic outside.

Open communication will help alot here too. Talk about everything and anything that is on your mind and hopefully your partner will too. That will settle things in a nice way if you can both feel like you can do this together.

Cook him a meal of his favorite foods. Bake him a cake. Get him a real good heart touching card or make him one.Something special. Then spend the day together watching TV or a movie.
If yaw have kids let the kids make him something too.

With that many children, you guys are probably feeling out of tune with the twenty somethings. Get a baby sitter and have a night on the town. Some place quiet, but around a lot of people. I nice dinner then a walk around a lake? Good luck!

Send him out early. Make an event night (like prom or wedding night etc.) Get all dressed up and cook him his favorite meal. Lay clothes out for him to put on (with a note), make a CD of your favorite songs, then have a prom night. or Make a collage of pictures of you both. Fun times together. Any ticket stubs you might have. I did that for my husband and he loved it.

Make him a card..it doesn't have to be fancy, and you can add inspirational quotes or poems. I did this for my husband on a couple of occasions and he loved it. Hand written is better, though if you have a printer and a card making software you can add graphics to it.

You can make him a card and for every year he has been on Earth, list one of the things you love about him.

I did this for my boyfriend last year even though we could afford gifts, mind you he is "Mr Caveman" normally, cried.....

its a very good idea.
