no, music causes certain FEELINGS in people
it cannot cause actions
however, undisciplined people (and youth generally have a little more trouble controlling there actions than older people) will sometimes act on their feelings
so, if anyone (but especially young people or intoxicated people) inundate themselves with music that tends to generate certain feelings, they are then more likely to act on those feelings
if someone immerses themselves in peaceful music that encourages peaceful feelings, they are more likely to act peaceful
but in the end, we have the choice of how we are going to act, regardless of how we feel
but the smart person chooses music (or any other stimuli) that will make it easier for him to act in the way he wants to long term, regardless of how he "feels" right at the moment

Someone wrote an article recently that teens who listen to certain types of sexually-explicit music are more likely to have sex at a younger age, compared to those who do not listen to that genre of music.
I personally don't think that music causes action--while there may be a correlation between music and certain things ("I like country, I drive a truck") I think it's more likely that your personality affects your music and your actions.
Going back to the story of people having sex because of the music they listen to: I think it's more probable that teens who are more likely to be having sex at a younger age also enjoy that genre of music. That doesn't mean that the music is what is causing the action--it's just a correlating factor.

No, they may make it an excuse but there is no direct cause and effect. If a person's concept of realilty can be effected by music, then there are many more undreling facters to look at like why would music pudh them over the edge. what pushed them in that direction in the first place should be examined. When I hear a heartbreak song, I think about heartbreaks, not how to break mine and others hearts.

I think music can make you feel certain ways; however, it's up to the individual how they act on those emotions. So I don't believe it's necessarily a cause and effect.
I used to have a dress store. We noted that people tended to buy more clothes when upbeat music was playing. It made them feel good, so they felt good trying on/buying clothes. However, the music didn't make them buy the clothes.

no. music is just one way to express what is felt inside. if they go out and commit crimes its because that is how they feel inside, and so they may also listen to certain music around the same time frame. however, it is coincidental, not causative.

I bounce at a bar on the weekends, and there is a song out there, not quite sure of the name but it goes, "Get back, Get back you don't know me like that." Everytime that song was played there would be a fight. I do think that music affects people's actions.

Well, music is known to alter the growth of plants and the behavior of animals. Some gangsta rap glorifies anger and violence. Some music promotes sensuality. it seems to me that music doesn't directly cause behavior, but might inspire it. In other words, music contributes to mood and mood contributes to actions.
