Egypt is beyond great. I am a westerner, I first travelled to Egypt back in 1995 and ever since then I visit at least once a year and I usually spend around 15 days during each visit.
First of all, allow me to clear the security issue. Egypt is very safe and I have never had a problem or heard of any foreigner who experienced any security related problem.
There is so much to do and see, it really depends on your age and interests
If you are young teens - mid twenties and you want a great night life, clubbing and diving, then go to sharm el sheikh, which makes Ibiza look small.
If you are 30+ and you want to experience the marvels of ancient egypt, then there is tons to see in Cairo, Luxor, Aswan etc. Take a nile cruise, it is an awesome experience.
Overall, Egypt is not an expensive country so the value for money equation is great.

Yes. I spent 2 weeks there a few years ago. I enjoyed my experience and think Egypt has some great qualities. The archaeological stuff there is simply amazing! And there are some beautiful places to see along the Nile. I cut my foot open at one point during my trip, and the people were amazingly helpful--I ended up at Cairo hospital for stitches. So, all that to say, I'm sure Egypt has it's problems, but I had a good experience there.

Ofcourse its a good country...You should try visiting Egypt whenever u can.....
When the whole world was in darkness, they were on top of everything....knowledge wise and civilization wise.....
Its where civilization started... U know what the egyptians call their country "Masr, Umm Aldonia" meaning "Egypt Mother of The World"

I always wanted to. It seems like a gorgeous country with alot of cutlure and beauty. I have always wanted to see the pyramids.
However, I think it would be very unwise for any westerner to travel to Egypt at this time. To much anti-wester behavior, terror attacks, ect ect. I will save it for later in life when this behavior calms down.

I lived there te past 10 years of my life & still..
I'm Egyptian...
Apart of lack of clean streets & organised signs & traffic...
It's amazing especially a Nile cruise at sunset...
I love it despite everything....

no i haven't been there, but i love to go see the museums and do some culutral activities. i heard cairo is a beautiful city!

no i haven't been there, my father was and he say is a beautiful country and he want me to go there.......to visit the pyramids, kings valey, and all beauties from there

i live whole of my life here, actually i'm egyptian but honstely, it is amazing country not in my eye, but as i know from the forginers guests who come visit our country. you are welcome at any time.
