i've always been wary of single elimination games since a more superior team can have an off night and lose....given the less accurate shooting percentages of the usa team their loss of only 6 points was an indication of their superior talent...they were outshot 62 to 50 percent and only sank 59% from the free throw line...i really think fiba should change the single elimination format for the semis and finals so fluke winners would be more far-fetched...best of three would make the americans probable winners in their recent losses in the international scene

I doesn't surprise me. To be honest, I don't really follow basketball that much especially when it involves the so-called 'pros'. The egos of the professional basketball players are so big that the US cannot put together a true 'team'. Most of the players are out only for themselves and don't play well as team players.
I did not see the game between the USA and Greece, but I can only imagine what contributed to the performance.

I am very very happy because USA team has a bad attitude. They always think they are superior to other nations. That's why I can' bear them.
Congratulations to my neighbours the Greek ( I am Turk).
I am happy for them. They showed to the entire world that they are real men, refusing to let arrogant US team win...They can be proud!
On the fina l game,I hope Spain will win. But anyway in sports the best has to win, whoever he is...
I'm sad because Turks have lost. But at least the final game is a mediterrenean game. And maybe it will be a team from the Aegean that will win, instead of us...

I'm not happy. I'm Serbian but I live in America. I wanted Serbia to win but they got eliminated by Spain. So now I want Spain to win it all so I can say that Serbia was beaten by the best. The only good thing that happened from the US losing is that it put all theses cocky americans in their place (in case you don't know what that place is, it's third in the world... AT BEST) if they lose to Argentina then they are 4th in the world. As for Serbia... the whole team is young. Their star player (Darko Milicic, he had three double doubles in the tournament) just turned 21 this summer. So in four years, watch out. However Serbia and Montenegro are splitting up so maybe not, but who knows.
France did a great job though, they beat Serbia in the second game of the tournament.

I watched the whole game and I am american.... I am a little but mad they lost but I hope it shows to the USA players we need the good ones to play........KG SHAQ TIM DUNCAN Kobe....... You make a team out of those 4 and destroy and the boards which was the problem this morning...... Also it looked like Lebron was the only one wanting the win at the end when he scored everytime at will... Coach K ruined it but at the olympics its are gold with Kobe coming the best basketball player in the WORLD.

staring on the sport, i spotted some obtrusive issues. One biggie became into that the u . s . shot poorly from the toes line. yet another became into poor shot determination. the adult men which could shoot from exterior (Melo, Hinrich, Battier, Johnson) weren't the adult men taking the pictures. Wade and Lebron have been bricking away. additionally, as interior the NBA, they won't end Greece's %.-n-roll. they had no answer for Sofoklis "infant Shaq" Schortsanitis. Now, he's no longer good. I observed no longer something from him that reported that the Clippers ought to call him in, yet in this game, he became into in basic terms too massive. He bullied style and Bosh. the only guy that gave him difficulty became into Dwight Howard. That finally ends up in a distinctive reason they misplaced. The education. coach ok did no longer make the mandatory ameliorations until a jiffy into the 4th quarter. His ameliorations helped the u . s . shrink into the lead, for this reason, that's conceivable that had he adjusted faster, they'd have gained. The roster became right into a project, too. the biggest adult men on the gang at the instant are not suited for FIBA ball. in case you had by no ability considered Lebron, Wade & Melo play previously, it would be hassle-free to assume that Melo became into the terrific of the three. Melo's game is extra advantageous suited for the worldwide game. Lebron and Wade are penetrators that don't shoot properly. They the two have been uncovered. They complete with good scoring strains, yet Wade scored off of distinctive dunks and Lebron scored on the activities he became into waiting to get interior. while the two certainly one of them pulled up from exterior, they appeared terrible. that's NBA blashemy, yet Arenas and Morrison would have been extra clever than Wade and Lebron. ultimately, the Octopus guy is freakin' mind-blowing. Dimitris "Octopus guy" Diamantidis and Houston Rockets draftee, take care of Vassilis Spanoulis, have been in basic terms too good and too lots. They have been given warm and the full team fed off of there capacity. u . s . misplaced through fact at this element in time Greece is a extra advantageous T-E-A-M.

Yes i'm upset i'm American and I love Basketball, but the USA team couldn't play defense and couldn't hit wide open shots. They then resorted to one on one play watching whoever had the ball. It's clear when it comes to team play USA is not #1.

I'm American and I think it's a disgrace, but we probably deserved it. Some players who were needed couldn't be bothered to show up. I try not to bring politics into sports, I don't support racism or bigotry in sports (including FIFA), and I'm sad when anyone else does. I also don't support racism, bigotry or idiocy on politics either.

I am mad that they lost but they had to come to reality that there are other teams out there now that can compete. It is not like the 90s anymore there is a descent basketball player in every country now.
