Congratulations, you have somehow escaped the machine with soul intact and are now free to live your life as your choose.
Live simply, bro. Stay lean and hungry. Be happy and fulfilled, and **** the big house and the $80,000 car. Use what you need and follow your dreams.

It means that perhaps they're looking for happiness in the wrong place. It's good to feel that money isn't bringing joy, because that's not what it is intended to do. Family, love, comfort, these are things that can satisfy an empty soul. And every now and then taking some TIME OFF to relax and calm the brain. As long as you're living comfortably (as opposed to in luxury), and taking the time to enjoy everything that isn't monetary, they should be happy.
I'm glad a beer and a song to the trick for you!

Guess what, my friend? You have figured out one of the secrets of having a truly rich life. Being rich doesn't necessarily mean that you have lots of money -- it means that you have lots of happiness. If you can learn to be happy with "simpler" things, you're well on the road to having a well-balanced life. Yeah, I could be making well into six figures, but I have a good job, I work 40 hours a week, I get to spend time with family, friends, and spouse, and I don't have to drive a Lexus to be happy (although I wouldn't mind having one). Money can't buy happiness. It's created from within.

Arrrgh! Don't be so Un-American!
Heh, well, I don't really know how it is unamerican, though it might be.
I don't know what it means, but I have the same thing. I think there's many cheap ways to enjoy life, and that I don't really need alot of money, other than for rent, food and necessities. The best things are free.

for ALOT of people, money is their GOD, others are to lazy to work for it, so they steal money from others. i believe money should be used as a "tool" for living, not an end all in life. i believe in a healthy balance in everything in life, i'm glad you are not a money mongrel.

It means you don't get much satisfaction out of making a lot of money - nothing more, nothing less. Hint: it ain't complicated!

it means they are insecure and just unhappy with themselves, they need to stay working to keep their minds occupied with some type of task.
