Go to the Control Panel, and double click the Add/Remove Programs icon.

On the left hand side, you'll see an icon for "Set Program Access and Defaults". Click the radio button for "Custom", and under the "Choose a default media player" heading, select "Windows Media Player".

Make sure the adjacent check box called "Enable Access to this program" is checked.
Hit "OK", and that should do it.

open My Computer - Across the top click on Tools and then folder options. Click on the File Types Tab. Scroll through and find MP3. Highlight it, then click change towards the bottom. Then in the next screen select media player. Then repeat for all the other media types that you use. After you've changed for all your media types, then click OK and you are done. (An little hint on this, I am assuming that you installed one program that took over all your media applications. You can quickly scroll this list and just look for that applications Icon.) Hope this helps
