Is this a boarding school where you will be locked away from all human contact outside of the school?
Keep going to do the same things you were doing, whether it was the mall, or bowling or whatever people your age do.
Telephones, email, instant messengers, text messaging, and all those are good ideas, but you will still have afternoons and weekends. And a full summer next year.
To stay close, make plans for activities and involve them.
Make new friends also, and you can have twice as many friends.
Good Luck in the new school.

Well. . . your question is very vague. Is it miles and mile or just in a different school on the other side of town? If it's just on the other side of town make plans on the weekends and have the two groups of new friends hang out. If it's beyond a few miles away, it's a little tuff, keep in touch via phone, email, IM, and other types of communication.

Try to keep in touch via letter, computer, phone, ect. But don't keep too much in touch. I, understand it's important to keep your old friends, but you should also try to make some new ones. If you're stuck all over your old friends, you won't pay as much attention on the present situation, and miss out on making new, maybe better, friends!
So, make new friends, but keep the old!

Second answer is it. Make arrangements to meet from time to time to catch up on each others news. Friends are a precious gift and worth nurturing.

Phone conversations, IM, e-mail, letters...in other words keep in contact. Arrange "play" dates when your home form school (holidays, etc.)
