Plan your day accordingly, and everything will be fine. As others suggested bring your own ponchos, or just wear clothes that dry fast. Unless there is a big hurricane the rain is usually only about an hour out of your day. If this is the case plan to do lunch around that time. Disney has only closed twice due to hurricanes, and other mishaps. You will have a wonderful time, as long as you don't expect everything to be perfect. That is a great time to go since it is not peak season. Have fun!!

I am going from Sept 17 - Sept 22, no worries.
I was there this same week last year. We had only one day that had heavy rain for a short time. The sky was a little cloudy most of the time, but it was warm, fun, and not too crowded.!!!
If you are there and it rains, there are plenty of inside rides and shows to spend you time. If a full blown hurricane happens to pass by, take comfort in knowing that Disney World has been rated as a "storm ready community" by the National Weather Center.

The storm is clear up North along the East Coast. You may have a day or two of cloudy or even rainy weather, but you will be just fine. I recommend purchasing a poncho for everyone in your family at a Wal Mart or Target near you before you travel. Be sure you have them on you when you go anywhere... especially to visit the parks. They have ponchos there, but they are more expensive and if it is raining, you'll have to wait in line behind everyone else that came un-prepared.
Also, if it rains, use that time as an opportunity to get on a favorite ride! When it starts to rain, most people panic and run for shelter or a store. This is your time to put those ponchos on that you've already packed and head over to stand in line at a favorite attractions. The line will be cut in half!

Chances are you might get an afternoon rain storm (@ 50%) or a hurricane may be in the area.Sept 15 is the peak of hurricane season.I would not worry too much. The worst case scenario is they will close a ride or two, cancel a parade and pack up the little kiosks on wheels (i.e. ice cream carts, souvenirs, popcorn carts). The best thing to do if you see rain is to be in a long line for a ride (under cover of course) and literally wait it out.I usually hang out on main street when I see rain.I can hop from shop to shop without getting wet.The rains will be quick or last for an hour.Bring a Poncho! Avoid an umbrella,I've seen people get poked in the eye with them and a poncho allows you to have both hands free. They sell rain ponchos at most of the kiosks. Some of them have Disney logos on them so you can wear them back home, as souvenirs.Interesting to note,Disney has a methodical plan for preparing for a storm!.Watch them spring into action!

Here's the deal: Almost everything worth doing and seeing at Walt Disney World is indoors or under cover, so even if it rains every day you can still have a lot of fun. Just do yourself a favor and buy rain ponchos before you go. They sell cheap yellow garbage bags with Mickey Mouse on them for $8.00 to keep the rain off, and we all know we can do better than that at Wal-Mart or Target. Unless it is pouring down rain or there is an electrical storm the evening shows/parades/fireworks will still go on, so don't worry about that. Go into it with the attitude that you're going to have a great time even if it rains every single day, then you'll be pleasantly surprised when you get a sunny day (and you can take advantage of one of the water parks or the pool at your hotel on a sunny day).

you have to look at the fine print on the ticket. Unfortunately, you are bound by the terms and conditions of the ticket. If there is inclement weather, they usually leave the park open but on a limited basis. It all depends on how heavy the rain fall is. Of course, if there is a hurricane, there's no Disney World. But the best thing to do is to contact Disney World and ask them about their inclement weather policy.

I have season passes to Disney World. Um, i suggest you bring a poncho. "Just in case", ya know? Florida thundersotrms are very unpredictable. Oh, and buy your own ponchos at like Wal-Mart or something, cuz they charge like $7 a pop there.
