My motivation for writing is just because it's something I like to do. I e-mail stories with my friends, and they help edit it. If I'm frustrated or angry, it sometimes helps to put it down on paper. Especially since sometimes strong feelings drive my writing.
Financial success doesn't matter as much to me, though it would be nice of course. I love to have people read my stories and hopefully like them. I suppose if a lot of people read them, however, you make money. So I suppose it somewhat matters...if that makes sense. lol
I'd like to be well-known, mostly because I like people to read, critique, and hopefully enjoy my books. But I like to write stories for the sake of writing stories, also.

Some advice I have for writing is to write when you feel like it. Don't write because someone wants you to- writing should be for you. Don't let nasty comments get you down because writing can always be edited if necessary, aand if you don't think it should, then don't. Let your feelings and your heart guide your writing and you'll never go wrong. Good luck with future writing!

Writing is an art, with the paper being the easel and the pen being the brush. With that in mind, you create a picture in words.

I have written very extensively and have had a great amount of satisfaction expressing my point of view. There are too few people who have too much to say and so, I add my two cents.

The main thing about writing is to relate to the reader by giving texture, depth and personality to your canvas. It comes with experience and trial and error. Also, writing is not about facts or a documentary. The artist takes liberties and as they say in Hollywood...if the facts interfere with the storyline, change the facts !

Always afford the reader a reason to go to the next word, the next paragraph, the next page...Don't build-create.

Aspiring writers? If you're writing regularly, you're a writer. That's my opinion.

It never occurred to me not to write. I've been writing since I learned to put letters together, and I remember being surprised when I learned other people don't do it.

It's great is people read my stuff and take an interest in it. But if not, it's not like I'm going to stop writing. I belive quite firmly that if I ever was forced to quit I would shrivel up and die.

I want to be a published writer because I want to share the stories in my mind with the world. The same reason that someone might want to be a singer or dancer is why I want to write.
I noticed, at a young age, that I took extreme joy in creating characters and plot lines. I am willing to spend all my free time persuing this and not feel like I wasted a moment.
My hope is to get several novels published. If you want to chat more with me about writing go to

First of all, if you want to be a writer, you have to learn how to write. You only need one question mark at the end of a question.
I am a writer and I write because it gives me joy. It's my job and I love it. I would like to be famous, of course, but the satisfaction I get from finishing a well-written, polished novel that gives pleasure to readers is very gratifying.
Writing means continuing to learn and improve ones craft, always trying to write well—even e-mails, and reading voraciously. You'll never be a writer if you don't read a lot, and for God's sake, study the rules of grammar (this is not a criticism of your grammar, which seems okay, just a general comment to all would-be writers).

I was just writing about this in my journal last night! I am reading a book called "The Cloistered Walk" about a female poet who spends time at a monastary for the experience of it. She writes about "lectio divina," which is "spiritual reading." This is how I read--with my soul, my experiences--and this is why I read slowly--I am experiencing the text.

As a writer, I want others to experience my words. To share something with them, to be a part of them, for the knowledge that I will be read and that the reader, even before reading, becomes a part of me. I'm not terribly social. People, crowds, make me uncomfortable. But I want to be part of the world. I want others to be a part of my world. Words are my way of existing.

I write because I exist. I exist because i write.

I loke writing because it's a way of living experiences without actually doing so. My characters can do everything I can't or don't want to and get away with it.

If you want a better answer you should read George Orwell's essay called "Why I write". I loved it very much and it would give you a nice insight. You can find this essay in his book of collected essays.

I mostly want to just share a story with others and entertain people. Money isn't a huge factor to me because I know that only a select few writers make a lot of money anyhow.

Mainly I write because I HAVE to. I don't expect fame or fortune. I don't even anticipate being PUBLISHED. I just NEED to put the words down.
