Pampers Swaddlers are the best when they are newborns. Then I switched to Pampers Cruisers when mine got to big for the Swaddlers. The Cruisers are very stretchy on the sides and I have never had a problem with leaks. They cost about the same as the Huggies and other varieties, but sometimes you can find coupons which always help! Join Pampers.com and they will send you coupons in the mail. Good luck!

I'm generally a Huggies fan, they're ultra soft and stretchy and quality can't be beat. But I did like the pampers swaddlers for my newborn preemie son. It was those or Huggies supreme until his circumcision healed and the cord fell off. After that I usually used Huggies, until the price went up so high I had to find an off brand.

Here's a tip you didn't ask for, LOL: Beware the offbrands, often, they leak so bad (even after they pee just once that it's not worth the price savings. Two I've found that aren't bad? White Cloud (most often at Walmart) & Target brand

Well, for something completely different, I think cloth diapers are the best for babies. You can get unbleached cotton diapers, and wraps, or even all in one cotton diapers that don't need a wrap or anything. They are much cheaper than buying disposable, and even if you went with a diaper service it is still cheaper. Cloth is great because it doesn't have any of the chemicals that disposables do, the "extra absorbancy" gel that can cause asthma in not only kids, but the adults who change them as well.

Cloth diapered babies tend to potty train earlier than disposable diapered kids. And the cloth diapers you get these days are sooo cute!

Another vote for nice soft cloth diapers here.

Do you enjoy the way disposable pads feel on your period? I sure don't. Imagine wearing those sticky uncomfortable things all day every day...for two years or more!

Cloth diapers are less expensive over time (more so if you have more than one child), they make potty training easier, and they don't create a lot of trash going to the landfill.

I have 5 kids, and I have done both- full time cloth and full time disposables. I prefer the cloth.

Another benefit: cloth are less likely to have "blowouts" with poop going all up the back.

Gone are the days of sharp pins, toilet-dunking, and itchy rubber pants. Modern cloth diapers are cute, stylish, and fun! At least take a look before you make your final decision.

no matter who you ask you are going to get different answers. one person will swear by pamper and the other will hate them. my suggestion is to try out a few different ones. every baby is different and the diaper won't all fit the same way. personally with my daughter i used huggies and pampers when she was a newborn and then changed to luvs at size 1 and have had no problems. she's in size 5 now.
good luck!

We always had the best luck with pampers newborns and then Huggies for any other size. But every bottom is different and different hips and bottoms need different diapers! Some babies just require different shapes than others, try them all!

I have found that Huggies are the best. They hold more urine than others. No that you would want your child to be wet but for instance if you're traveling or something and can't get to the child at that moment, your child has a less chance to get a diaper rash with Huggies than any other diaper. Huggies Supreme so there is no tape to stick on the child by mistake.

Cloth, Cloth, Cloth and Cloth.

Why subject your newborn to having paper, plastic and chemicals against his/her skin. Why take a chance of having your baby alergic to the contents of a disposable diaper. Why load up our landfills with items that won't decay for decades.

Cloth diapers cause less rashes and irritation than disposables do.

Of course you have to do more laundry but then after all it's your baby's health and comfort not your convenience that you should be considering, right??

Good luck and congratulations.

Your newborn’s skin is very delicate and what touches it can affect its condition. Especially, runny mess. That’s why Pampers Swaddlers feature an AbsorbAway Liner™ with 5 Star Absorbency – to help keep runny mess away from baby’s tender skin. The quilted backsheet and soft overlapping fasteners further ensure a snug and comfortable fit. - I used these with my son and I loved them they don't leak and they are very soft
