I teach high school. There are a lot of short freshman students. Kids do not pick on them because the teachers do not allow it. If someone picks on you then you need to tell a teacher. You will be fine.

I was pretty petite and short when I began high school (and didn't grow much taller. I am stuck at 5'2"). It's a shame that you have to be nervous and concerned that you will be made fun of over something you have no control over (your height), but I know that there are people out there who are real jerks.
You need to hold your head high and proud all the time. You will figure this out when you look back at your high school years, that things were not as life and death as it will feel when you are living it...but that is with time and experience. In the meantime, try not to let these things feel so serious.
You WILL make friends, you WILL fit in, you WILL do great.
I survived and on top of my petite size in more than one way (small bust size--a real issue for some young girls), I survived, went on to college, got married, had children...
Be yourself, study hard, and have fun with high school. You will be fine.

i know the feeling, im 4'11" i havnt grown an inch since 8th grade and im 23 now, i never went to one school for more than 2 years i always moved, i know its scary but truthfully its all in the way you look at it, i love being short i always have, yeah people made jokes abt my height so what i did after a while was made a competition out of it, whoever could tell me a short joke i hadnt heard before would get a pat on the back, i used my height as an ice breaker, look at it this way you will never have to worry about finding a guy taller than you,
being new at a school is always scary, especially when your a freshmen, but you will get through it and you will be alright, just try to have fun with it,

I know how it feels being in a new school. I went to 3 different high schools, and everytime I had to make new friends. It's hard, but it can be done. Just be who you are. Dress how you like to dress. YOu don't need to change to be accepted. It's our individual uniqueness that makes us all so interesting. If we all looked the same what fun would that be? I never dressed to fit in no matter where I was and I made friends just fine. You will do fine and you will make some good friends, I'm sure of it. Good luck to you!

High school was hard 4 me 2 cause of me height 4'9. Try to stay cool and be yourself and remember your not the only 1 with height problems in school (remember that). Making friends is easy talk about school, tv, books, cloths, anything or eveything to brake the ice. It's going to be fine just give it time...

My son is 4'7" and he goes to high school in the morning! Since he is young, I went with him the first few days and there were quite a few kids his size.
