Doesn't sound like a real great way to use one's time, does it? I'm with you. Money is nice, but if I die tomorrow, my bank account won't mean much to me. My life sure would.
I think anytime one puts all their focus toward one goal or ideal, he/she is shorting himself. Balance, balance, balance, don't you think?
Sounds like you have a healthier view of life and may actually enjoy yours more. Live on!

Obsessive? Possibly. If thinking about it to the detriment of other aspects of your life, then maybe. But it could also just be some entrepreneurial spirit, assuming they do something with the thoughts.
Compulsive? No. Compulsive behaviour deals with having to repeat a behaviour over and over without control, not just thoughts.
Worship of false idols? Probably not. Just a by-product of capitalism.

It depends on if theyre obsessed or not, like if they stopped making money they would have a nervous breakdown, thoughts of suicide even if they were already rich! It's not the same because ppl who do have that disease have a phobia of touching doorknobs seeing a certain color and other things thier mind makes up. What your saying is pretty close.

Goal oriented people---They have goal to make money and do it!! Good for them--how do you know they are ignoring all other aspects of life. I think about making money all the time. But I am a great mother and wife--I just multitask!

Many take the road of our Congress. They raise money every day.
Most of those you speak of may find it necessary in order to live.
Bear in mind that one works until JULY to pay taxes, all taxes. Then one works for themselves.
Income tax is not the end of taxes paid.
