Both Yahoo and MSN have places where you can click on to have your conversations saved, but be warned, thet are saved month by month...then destroyed. Just look for it and click the right one you want...you can only do it when you are talking to someone.

there is a setting that you can turn on that Will record the conversation but what I would do is copy paste the conversation into a notepad or wordpad document. If you want to keep the conversation for longer than a month as the other post was talking about.

i am not sure but i think if you have google desktop it automatically records your chats and lets you search them
