I own a bakery and have another job, and I would dig for pennies and work my butt off before even considering to go on food stamps or beg. And then russians come to America, say how stupid americans are, and never work. They pop out a kid every year, own gorgeous cars, and when its time to pay, they had over their card which was given to them by the government. Is that where our tax money goes?
I was in a store the other day delivering product, and I broke a piece off to give to a little kid. The mother tells me no, her kid doesnt need it. She was driving a lexus and dress beautifully. Next thing you know, she hands out her Oregon Trail Card. Ha!!!! I work my a$$ off to be able to go to the doctor once every 6 years, and pay taxes so that she can use that money and never lay a hand on a job. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!
I dont mean only russians, but immigrants in general. We were immagrants too when we came from Europe, but at least we work.

Canada is just as bad. I hate to sound so ignorant but allot of immigrants leave their own country for a reason. Some are legitimate (war, religious persecution, etc) and I don't mind my tax dollars going to those people so they can have a better life-> for a little while, until they can get on their feet. But many who come here have done so because they screwed up so badly in their own country. They cannot conform to their own laws, rules and regulations so they come to the "free" land. I just wish someone would explain that "the land of the free" doesn't mean they get to sponge of us.

I hear you entirely. I've worked my whole life and am now lucky just to be working. In Canada, assistance is given to immigrants who want to start a small business. I don't know if it's in the form of a loan or grant nor do I really care. All I know is that my husband (born and raised in Canada to parents who were born and raised here also) could never get any type of help for his business because it was considered retail. Like the corner stores most immigrants in my area seem to start aren't retail? I guess I missed the boat on that one.

If you have so many problems with immigrants who are leaching off american social welfare, why don't you close your borders and kick all immigrants out of the country? It looks like based on answers here that your country wouldn't have any problems whatsoever than. Maybe you should rather spend your energy into doing some course in marketing for example, make your bakery more profitable and make your living more comfortable and less stressfull. And if you don't like your government policies, vote for someone else on elections.

I came from the Philippines as immigrant here in US and I never ask anything from the government for help. I work my butt off and pay taxes willingly for more than 20 years. Sometimes I wonder what kind of conscience this people have who abuse the help that their getting from the government when it is actually for the poor and under privileged people?

I'm with you. I don't like anyone who has to be on government aid. They are losers and a drain to our economy.
