Unless she begins to vomit or becomes extremely fussy, you have nothing to worry about. Good luck! Don't blame yourself. These things happen. With almost all head injuries, a child will begin to vomit within a short period of time.

Wake her up and make sure she's able to wake up. If that is OK you can run a little pen light beam across her eyes to see if her pupils contract, they should both react equally.
If you don't think she's acting normal, get thee to the ER. That's why they're there. :)
Kids fall all the time, goose eggs, cuts that bleed like a fountain, Murphy's Law applies to motherhood. Keep a bag of frozen peas in the freezer to use as a boo-boo ice bag, the peas will roll around and fit against whatever got smacked and keep the swelling down. They're gonna scream when you do it, too bad, keep the ice on there there for 10 minutes to keep the damage to a minimum.
You'll be fine, honey, we've all been there. I felt so guilty when my first daughter got hurt bad I would have bought her a damn car if I had the money, and she was 6... LOL wasn't my fault, it was an accident, I still felt guilty!

I understand your alarm.. But when my son was 7 months old he rolled off my 4 foot high bed and hit a carpeted floor. I went immediately to the ER, and all the doctors said he was fine. Now that my little angel hits his noggin on the regular and all is well I see that when a baby falls their head is the last thing to hit, they automatically curl up into a ball almost and their bodies usually take most of the fall. So anyways, if she is not disoriented and is eating when she wakes up then I wouldn't be alarmed, of course your going to be shook up for the next month but she is probably fine. Look at her eyes, doctors say as long as she has good eye contact (as she normally does) then they are normally fine.

Call your doc and ask their advice. If she fell when you were standing I would say take her immed to the er but if she feel from her standing position on the floor Im sure she is going to be ok. She fell asleep afterwards because of the stress of the situation and the crying fit she had afterward. Its babies way of dealing with things like that...just go to sleep. But like I said earlier you need to call the doc and ask what to look for and what you should do. Thats the only way you will feel better.
I know you feel terrible but dont beat yourself up over it. She is gonna have a lot more falls in her future..its normal and kids are resiliant.
Take Care and Good Luck.

They really are pretty tough. It depends on how hard she hit. If she hit really hard, you might should wake her up and take her to the ER just to be sure. If any other part of her body helped break her fall, then she is probably okay. Don't blame yourself, though. Every other mother out there knows that accidents happen. (There will be many more!)

I think she is OK, did she hit herself hard? I don't think so,you said its a carpet floor. It happened with my baby too sometimes. But I know you are worried,I am too all the time if something like that happens. If you are worried you can call your doctor and they will answer your question professionally. I called my doctor a lot, nothing is wrong with that.
Maybe you can look if her head is swollen. I don't think there is anything wrong.

these people will make you panic. I am sure that she is ok, she wasn't high up. You said she hit her head, not landed on her head, there's a big difference. If she gets an egg-make sure it swells out. I'm sure it scared you that she slipped, and bumped her head. It just scared her, that's why she cried. Don't over react, she's fine. Relax, don't listen to these mothers that are telling you to call the emergency room, come on.

Don't beat yourself up about it.....it happens....babies fall. She's a lot stronger and tougher than you're giving her credit for. Sometimes babies cry because they're shocked more than hurt. Just make sure that she doesn't have a bump on her head, and monitor a little more closely to see if she's clumsier than usual...if not, all is well.

You should call the nurse advice line or your local emergency room. If she fell hard she may have gotten a concusion in which case you need to keep a close eye on her to make sure she doesn't start throwing u, or her eyes aren't two differnt sizes. Maybe you should also call her doctor. Good luck
