Talked to my doctor a bit ago and she said that my weight gain is on the low side but everything is fine. Everyone is different I guess and I am relieved to know my weight is by no means on the high side. :-)

Everyone differs - - I am 18 weeks and I have gained 3 pounds... When I go to the doctor my baby is growing perfectly. I do work out and get on the treadmill every morning and at night (30 minutes each time) and I eat healty and stay away from fried foods and/or junk food. So if you are concern about not gaining to much weight., make sure to stay active and eat healthy and you and your baby will gain just enough but that you will not have to struggle too much after you give birth to lose all the weight. good luck.

I gained a bit at the beginning with both my girls, seemed like you just mentioned being pregnant and I would gain 5! You will probably have spurts where you gain a bit then dont gain at all and that is normal. Babies are growing and need different amounts of energy and requirements from you at different times:) Weight and being tired will fluctuate throughout the whole thing, but as a whole 16 weeks and 6 pounds is pretty good i think!

You should average about 3-7 pounds in the first trimester and 1/2 pound per week during the second. At 16 weeks, therefore, you should have gained 5-9 pounds. Your 6 pounds sounds just about perfect. Keep up the good work.

It depends on if you were overweight or underweight or just the right weight before you got pregnant. If you were over, you should gain not too much weight during pregnancy. If you were under, you'll probably gain ALOT during your pregnancy, etc. Just try not to worry too much about how much you're gaining, or not gaining and just remember to eat healthy and stay active and you'll be just fine! Take care and congratulations!

Woman usually gain around 2-3 pounds during the first trimester. You are already in your second, so it sounds like you are on tract. Your weight is not as important as your health and the health of your baby. Just remember you are not really "eating for two." Just make healthy food choices, take your prenatal vitamins, and see your doctor/midwife. Don't worry about your actual weight, as long as you are eating healthy.

I'm not a doctor, but play one . . . and I don't think it's a problem. You just have to be careful towards the later part of your pregnancy that you don't overdo it. I knew a woman once that she gained so much weight that the doctor theatened to admit her to the hospital and put her on bed-rest! (That means you can't control your own diet - hello hospital food) What does YOUR doctor say?

It's fine. Continue eating healthy. You can do slow walks on the treadmill to burn calories, and it will help your body burn off any extra hormones and junk in your blood.
