Because it's a mass society. Mass societies thrive by mass communication. And the attributes of "outer beauty" simply lend themselves to better visualization via mass media.
Having said this, there is quite a list of people who achieved super star status becaus of their inner beauty (Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Theresa, etc.). By far not as many as the ones that simply have "outer beauty", I admit.
But there is another aspect to that: "outer beauty" - attributes of physical attraction - is largely driven by aspects that, em, "provide incentives to procreate" (choosing my words very carefully here). Human beings are simply programmed to work that way. That's what's kept our race alive for the last 6000 years.

you will always see the outer beauty first its a given. It up to you to take the time to see the inner beauty. society doesn't make the time to learn to value inner beauty more much of anything really.

It's what society dictates. Wealth, power, and beauty. Have you seen the magazine rack lately. No where on a cover will you see a normal, everyday looking person.

Because people are lost and looking for inspiration- someone to look up to who seems to have all the answers they seek. They do not know that the beauty is within them, they don't see that those people may be suffering and you in fact have more of what they want. Life is all about ironies.

Human nature thrives more on what they see or hear. When a male is attracted to a beautiful female, they usually care less about what makes them beautiful in the inside. It is difficult to explain why.

Humans are naturally attracted to "beautiful" things. Just as a diamond ring, or any jewel would get your attention, it's all about being visual. Looking at something is easier than taking time to analyze and dissect it; so I guess it's about impatience...
