You cannot see into a black hole because its gravity is high enough to prevent light from escaping it. You can, however, "see" a black hole by it's effects: if you see a region of space where matter seems to swirl in towards a dense center, it's circumstantial evidence of a black hole's presence. Also, any charged particles that are accelerated toward a black hole will emit electromagnetic radiation, and as long as the particles are on the outside of the event horizon, there's a chance that these photons of light might head in your direction, to be picked up by a telescope. Thirdly, Stephen Hawking has shown mathematically that in the intense gravitational field right at the event horizon, virtual particles are created, and occasionally, one of them escapes the pull of the black hole. Enough of these particles streaming away from the black hole can be detected by terrestrial or orbiting particle detectors, and is a phenomenon they've taken to calling Hawking radiation, in honor of the physicist who proposed it.

Nope. But since the escape velocity of a black hole exceeds the speed of light, and light is sucked into it, who knows could be lit up after all.

The nature of a black hole is such that nothing can leave it because of massive gravity (which reinforces the concept that light (energy) has mass. Nothing on the outside of the event perimeter could perceive the light. As far as what is visible on th inside, no one knows. Stargazing/thinking rocks, don´t it!?

Certainly. It doesn't let the light out but sucks it in. So if you use the light you can see the ground for sure.
