Ok, My Xbox 360 broke yesterday. I was playing a game and right after the loading screen the system shut off. The 3 red lights popped up. I called tech support and the computer voice told me to take the hard drive off and then turn it on then turn it off and put the hard drive back on. That worked until the loading screen disappeared and the screen was black. So I called tech support again and went through all the BS (by the way my 360 is a first launch one and I had the tree month warrant). Then the guy named a price. 130$ + shipping and handling. I was stunned. I thought ,since it was a first launch, It would be very cheap. The tech support told me to take it back where I got it and there is a small percentage that they will take it back. Is there any possible way to pay a minimal amount of $ and get my 360 fixed?

My friend had this same problem and the problem here is that the XBOX overheated. You need to buy a cooling fan for your next XBOX unless you want that to happen again. Also, I would just tell Microsoft if they can replace your XBOX because I doubt this one will work again.

Microsoft has had a lot of problems with the 360 red lighting like yours. I have not heard of many of them coming back to life after they have red lighted like that. They overheat way to much and this is what caused the problem. Microsoft was in such a hurry to put out the 360 they didn't get all the bugs out of it. You may be able to get it fixed but I'm sure that it will cost an arm and a leg, the 360 is made in the U.S.A so the workmanship is suspect at best. Microsoft issued a re-call for the 360 when it first came out due to the cords overheating and causing fires. Whatever you do be careful since it is one of the first models of the 360.

You can yes but its like to people like me who are going to fix it for you then you are stuck with a crappy situation because you dont know if that person is going to mess it up more or you are actually going to be helped or not. X-box360's are just computers you have something wrong with your hard drive and my guess would be the video card first considering you get no picture but other than that your going to end up paying out the you know what either way to get it fixed. Sorry.
