Can you tell me where it is in America you can just walk into a store and buy a gun. It would be a lot easier to buy one off the street from someone in a dark alley than it would be trying to buy one in the store. To buy one in the store you have to first pass a background check proving you have never been to jail and to prove who you are. It takes 15 days to clear before you are issued a license and may take the gun home with you. Now to answer your question if it is right that americans can walk into a store and buy a gun , if you pass the checks then yes its right in fact its so right it is even a right that is on the constitution. I do think that anyone before being allowed to take a gun home should have to pass a class on gun safety and use and if there are children it must be stored in a child proof place. GUNS DON'T KILL , PEOPLE KILL. You can kill someone just as easy with a kitchen knife or even panty hose wrapped around someones neck . 1 out of 3 people have guns in Canada and they dont have a problem with people killing one another.
A car is just or is more deadly than a gun in the hands of someone who doesnt know how to use it. Gasoline in a bottle is more deadly. Maybe thats what this country needs is to go back to the times where you caught someone stealing from you , you shoot them. Someone steals your horse which now days is your car you hang them right there on the spot. People would sure start acting alot better. I love guns thats why I dont have one because I know I would use it on someone if they deserved it.

Each state is different, but at 18 in most states you can buy a rifle or shotgun with no waiting period. A handgun may take 3-15 days and there may be age restrictions.

Let's not forget that Walmart does not sell Maxim magazine because it has too much "nudity" but you can buy a shotgun and shells at 2 am. Is it just me, or what would you want with a gun at that time of morning???

If you have no felonies, and you are 21yrs of age then yes you can. some storeds have an instant check system and you can get your gun in minutes. the other types of stores can take up to 3 days. You can also take a gun course for 50 dollars and pay another 150.00 dollars and carry it on you loaded right on your side.

walmarts in california do not sell guns.

it really does differ from state to state. the guy above me had a good answer. handguns will ALWAYS have a waiting period, when they do background checks and such, because in some states, like California, convicted felons cannot purchase or own handguns.

It's called the Right to Bare Arms.......It's in our Constitution.
Some people however, should not own them because they cannot handle them responsibly. Background checks are supposed be done BEFORE they can take it home but, alas, that is not always the case.

Nope. A rifle can do a lot of damage.....the bullet holes are still clearly visible in my parent's house.
