Does a salamander count? I caught one of those a few years ago. Find a shallow creek, wade in with a net, turn over rocks until you find one, and then scoop it up. It's fun! He was orange and I did put him back in the water.
I tried to catch a lizard once that got in the house but when I grabbed for it I got the tail...well you know what happened. A bit weird because the detached tail keeps wiggling. : )

My cat brought in a skink the other day. She dropped it in the kitchen and it quickly ran under the refrigerator. The next day the skink was in the hallway and I caught it with a broom and dustpan and booted it out the front door. So, yes, I'm quick enough to catch a lizard!

U can probably catch a lizard but they are fast. They can usually run up to 10 miles an hour, in a matter of miila seconds.

When we were kids, we'd tie a thread noose onto the end of a thin pole. The lizard would sit still while the noose went around his neck! It worked great.
