That's a tough question. For me it's usually after I get a sunburn to get a tan. It depends on the pigment of your skin. For me it's about two hours. The best day would be midafternoon, and somewhere near the shade. I don't know about the latter part about going outside again repeatedly and then inside to make it darker. Never done it before.

Well, from 11-3 the sun is at it's hottest, highest point, so that would be the best time to get a tan. For you the morning should be the best, or evening. I like like looking tan, but know that it can cause skin cancer adn sin't the best for you. But a little won't hurt. I don't think that if you go out then back inside you should get too much sun, hardly any. 30 minutes in the sun might make you a little darker, but it depends what your skin is like in the first place, whether it tans easily or not. 30 minutes might slightly change me, but not much. I am pretty fair I guess, but got pretty dark this summer. Swimming doesn't give yo uas much of a tan, because the water blocks some sun, even though it's clear.

You say that you don't want a tan, correct. I noticed a lot of people were giving you advice on how to get one. If you don't want to get any darker, trying to stay out of the sun is your best bet. Wear a hat, stand under an umbrella in the shade, wear clothes that cover your skin. When you have to be outside wear a sunblock with a high SPF such as 50 or more and keep reapplying every hour. Going in the house every so often will at least keep you out of the sun for a little while but once you are back out you are still being exposed to the sun's rays and will potentially tan. Good luck!

best sun tanning hours are 10:00 AM Thur 4:00 PM. yes going in your house for 10 minutes and going back out for 30 will give you a deeper tan or a sunburn if you over do it. The best time to be outside without needing to worry about a tan or sunburn is at sundown, after dark and at dawn.

it depends on your skin type people with darker skin tan just as easily as lighter people but it is just hard to see because they are already dark. you should never lay out in the sun without sunscreen for more than an hour at a time

everyone is different, but I would say if you already are tan your chances of getting darker are good. going in the house won't change a thing. The longer you stay out in the UV... the more tan you will get.

if u have fair skin then you can get tanned really fast but u say that ur skin is slightly dark so its takes longer for you to get tanned but no matter what color u are u have to put sunblock. if u have fair skin u should use a sunblock that's over SPF30 but if u are slightly dark then SPF3O is good for u. but u have to make sure that it has UV-A and UV-B protection, just having one of them is useless really.

depends on your skin tone to begin with....might be easier to just go one time to a tanning bed somewhere...is pretty cheap and you don't have to waste all day trying to find sun between the clouds.
