What do you think is an average weight for a 12 year old who is going on 13 in about 6 months. Any tips to help me be healthier and lose some weight please!?

You are a growing young girl. You are perfect the way God made you.

Eat three healthy meals a day. Drink lots of water. Exercise for one hour a day.

You don't want to focus on weight alone ever. That means nothing. Average weights mean nothing either. And if you look a bit stockier than friends that might be meaningless too if that is just your build (we can't all be tall, stick-like models)- some people are full figured but perfectly healthy. Have you seen how big some athletes are? And many are in great health- but not slim, trim people.

It makes no difference if you are above average if you are still an okay weight for your height or still healthy.

The best gauge is to use a body mass index calculation (link below). That factors in (or attempts to) height, weight, age, etc. And if you are still worried, then go to a doctor. But don't overreact unless your BMI is just really bad.

Losing weight- if necessary: it always comes down to eating less junk and exercising more. No fast food, less soda, etc. But I'm not a dietician.

Girl stop it! You are still growing! Do you know that if you keep the same weigh and grow with your height you will be skinnier. And for the love handles, at puberty your waist enlarges to give you a sort of coke bottle form. Don't stress it will be fine. Let me tell you something. I'm 13, 5'8 and 168 Lb. You would think I'm fat but in fact I'm not, I'm slender . Don't care about the weight but maybe the look. Is your body pretty?

Well you have to excercise and eat right. Lay off the junk for a while, it really does help. Dancing, Gymnastics, Soccer, Basketball, and Cross country are great activities. My advice really works I used to weigh 130 when I was 13 and I went down to 90 or 100. But never ever think you are so heavy that you should become anorexic. I wanted to become anorexic, until people told me the risks of being anorexic. So please dont become anorexic. I think a good wieght for you would be around 90-110. Well I hope you take my advice!!!!

hmm well when i turned 12 i was 92 and i was'nt fat i was in the 6th grade,but I'm in 10th grade now and I'm 100 so i did'nt gain too much...so i would say it depends..prob. somewhere in between 80-100lbs. depending on how tall you are and how small or big you are..

Depends on your height. If you are around 5 feet tall in would differ if you're 4'9". Somewhere around 100 pounds would be good.
