I'm not talking about from anyone's point of view; I mean your own. After all, people should wear make-up however they feel.

My blunder is this: I have a make-up bag for all my make-up, then I use a spare purse for when I want to take make-up with me. I wanted my white eyeshadow, the powder version, for my Wednesday date. I could not find it. I took my duo Rimmel eyeshadow, yellow & white. Well, the "white" turned out to be a lighter shade of yellow, and it was sparkly. I decided to just wear it anyway. I do like yellow, but not one of my first picks when I want to look especially attractive. Luckily, my boyfriend still thought I was cute. But I do look better in white.
Also, I need to invest in a make-up mirror. I been wanting one for awhile. In my washroom, I look one way, just for the make-up be more pronounced in a brighter artificial light. Maybe when I put it on in the daytime, I'll use sunlight and apply make-up outside. I sometimes overdo it on red blush.

OMG to the one about the little foster sister with the nail polish & Nair all over the place..... that story made me laugh out loud!!!!

it also reminded me (ok, i know this is supposed to be aobut makeup, but this is worse) of the week i started my period. i was 13, and very shy/discreet about things like that. we had houseguests at the time and i was staying in my sister's bedroom so our guests could have my bedroom. i was trying to be all subtle about where i put my pads, and even the trash from them when i was done (i didn't want stacks of pads in the bathroom in the hallway, for everyone to see). so i had this little "pad stash" in my sister's closet of my *unused* pads in the box, plus a makeshift garbage bag filled with my used pads (i know, it sounds gross, but i was really worried about people seeing that i was having my period, and i was planning to throw them away when all the company left).

so i came home one day after school to find my 2-year-old stepniece in the kitchen handing something to her mom... something white and shredded up. i walked up the stairs to find a "trail" of white, shredded items, that led all the way into -- you guessed it -- my sister's bedroom. in the center of the room was my stepsister's dog, face buried in my "stash" of unused pads, and my (now empty) trash bag of used ones!!!! pads and kleenexes (that i had used to wrap them in) shredded all over the room, bits of Always Dri-weave hanging out of her drooly mouth.

needless to say, i was mortified. so much for trying to be discreet during your first period!!

When I was in middle school, I used to wear too much eyeshadow.

When I was in my 20s, I bought the wrong type of base from Cover Girl (Yes, I still use Cover Girl but ALWAYS check the color and the line before I buy now). Anyway, the base was so light that I looked like a ghost! I gave it to my sister who has a lighter complexion than I do and she said that she wasn't fake like me. I'm sorry but everyone in my family has a red face (eczema) and she needed to wear something to cover hers up too.

I think the worst thing though is when EVERYONE I knew would wear their eyeliner drawn out to a point just beyond the end of the eyelid. I think we were supposed to look like cats or something. How bizarre!

Mine was probably not learning how to pick colors when I started wearing makeup. I'm light and most of the things out at the time (only about 10 years ago!) were cool-toned and I'm not. Cover Girl had some truly awful concealers & powders back then that made me look pink. I'm glad someone told me!

P.S. Anyone who says they didn't try paste is a liar...there was always that one kid who ate it regularly and everyone else tried it to make sure they weren't missing out on something great!

My biggest blunder happened when I was a teenager. My real parents were foster parents and we had a little girl living with us (she was about 2) and I was getting ready to go on a trip w/my best friend. I packed all my makeup, zit cream, shampoo, nair, etc. in my bag, but I left it open when I went to bed..

At around 3 or 4 am, I woke up to find the little girl had ate my lipstick, put my nailpolish all over her lips, my face, arms and legs, my bed, my clothes etc. She also put Nair in my hair (a lot fell out), conditioner on my face and Noxema on my legs.

In addition to all that, she put my make up all over me and her and my carpet. She said she was trying make me look "pretty."

I had to go on my trip w/no make-up and a wig to cover the bald spots from the nair!

When I first statred wearing makeup I chose to wear this horrible bright aqua-marine colored eyeshadow. No one bothered to tell me that it looked horrible and I applied it wrong until a couple months ago when I brought it up.

Also, I did a bad job at choosing my foundation color and it made my face look like a ghost and everything else odd-colored. And, trying liquid eyeliner...I applied it all wrong and failed to tell myself that and thought it looked good.

My makeup blunder was attempting to wear any!

Actually the worst one was, when someone asked me why I didn't wear makeup, I replied, "Remember that paste we had in kindergarten, the one that tasted like mint and had the little spoon in it? It feels like I just spread that all over my face!"

Everyone just looked at me for a second before someone said, "You ATE paste?!?"

I thought everyone did...
:-)
Have a good one!
